Discover new horizons with the confidence of the Chevy Silverado, from busy streets to scenic views.
Is it just me or does food taste better in the summer? There’s something about sitting outside, sipping on a cold drink and munching a delicious meal that is just better when it’s done in the sun. In that spirit, here are a few food and drink festivals happening this month in Metro Detroit that are sure to quench your thirst and satiate your summer-sized appetite.
One of Ferndale’s biggest food and drink festivals returns July 13-15. Nine Mile Road and East Troy Street is where you will be able to savor delicious BBQ dishes while sipping on some of the finest liquors around. In addition to mouth-watering BBQ and top-shelf drinks, Pig & Whiskey will have live music from the likes of Bear vs. Shark, The Messenger Birds, The Doozers, Billy Brandt & The Sugarees, Electric Six and more. The Loving Touch will also be hosting an after party every day of the festival.
If you’ve never made it out to Beacon Park in Detroit, let this be your (perfect) excuse! Enjoy live music from local acts and food & drinks from on-site food trucks or the park’s flagship restaurant, Lumen, which opened earlier this year and sits at the corner of Grand River and Cass Avenues. Who doesn’t love a good taco? 15 of the best taquerias in Michigan will be on-site, letting you sample and chow down on their tacos (and salsas) all afternoon at Shed 5 in Eastern Market. Your ticket grants you one taco and one margarita. Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase. Local DJs will bring the tunes. You just need to bring your appetite. Discover new horizons with the confidence of the Chevy Silverado, from busy streets to scenic views. Join the folks from PawStroll at Detroit Fleat for an afternoon of ice cream and beer. One ticket will get you a flight of beer floats and an appetizer (dog treats). A costume contest will be held for the dog with the best ice cream or beer costume. 10% of proceeds will go towards Teacher’s Pet: Dogs and Kids Learning Together, a nonprofit organization that pairs “troubled youth with hard-to-adopt shelter dogs.” Taco Showdown (July 29)
Barks N Brews -Ice Cream N Brews (July 29)
